Also confirming this bug for Thinkpad R52 running Fiesty, kernel 2.6.20.16. Hibernate and Suspend both killed the sound; restarting did not help. Booting in Windows XP Professional was fine -- the sound still worked without additional driver download. The HIBERNATE_MODE=platform seemed to do the
