I found it necessary to install only appmenu-gtk2-module to restore function. I

I might add that until this problem is solved, programs such as the
Serpentine and the gThump, which depend on the CD/DVD creator, are also

I have the same problem with LG CD-RW CED-8120B. None of the solutions
suggested here work.
