error occured during install, while playing around I discovered that the
bios version(legacy) installs grub correctly (but ofc is of no use
because I cannot tell the computer to load ubuntu installed for bios on

I performed following steps to resolve the crashdump hang issue.
[Issue 1]default crashkernel=...
Changed the crashkernel to use 128M instead of 64M in /etc/grub.d/10_linux.
dmesg displays 128M reservation as expected.
[Issue 2] makedumpfile throws error while loading
Is this bug (Bug #671455 ) fixed yet? Have you found any workaround to
this issue?

hi guys, this is sudhkar.
I am using Ubuntu 9.10 Edition and Windows 7in my Sony (VPCEB14EN) Laptop.
When i am using Ubuntu there is no audio playing and moreover there is Ethernet
connection showing to use the Wired internet connection.But both sound and
Ethernet working well when i am using

i have debian lenny and ubuntu 9.10 on my desktop on separate hard drives.
Every thing was fine. after a routine upgrade provided by ubuntu the grub was
updated and after that both debian and ubuntu do not hibernate when i choose
