Hi Brad, now I'm on Lucid Lynx and it looks much better ... no lags have
been unambiguously detected for now :-). I'll keep testing and let you
know if some issue will occur. Thanks.

Update: while listening to MP3s, some little lags occured again. It
seems they are less frequent than before, but maybe it's only my
impression :-).

Description:Ubuntu 9.10

Hi, I am using ALSA as default for a long time without problems, but
this happened the first time when I upgraded to Karmic.
When I play mp3 [i've tryed mplayer and xmms] , I get randomly small
lags, but not often - cca 1x
Temporarily solved with:
sudo chmod -x /usr/bin/fbsetbg
And the issue is gone :-)

Daniel T Chen:
So I installend kvpnc and vpnc again, and removed resolvconf. I tried
to connect to VPN - OK. DNS worker. I disconnected from VPN, and DNS
work also. So I installed resolvconf back again. Made the same test, and
there was no problem now :-) so maybe reinstallation of resolvconf is
New finding: so when I installed resolvconf back, the DNS problems
occured again, but now when I connect to VPN. After disconnecting, DNS
worked properly again. So I removed resolvconf again and DNS problems
disappeared :-) so maybe resolvconf causes this problem.

kvpnc: wrong modification of
in Intrepid Ibex:
when I installed kvpnc and vpnc packages, i also had problems with DNS
after disconnecting from VPN. There are also related bugs about this
error.
Nothing else helped me than: sudo apt-get remove --purge vpnc kvpnc
+ restart , and DNS work normally again .

Same problem here in Intrepid Ibex, but here when I start PC, nm-applet
commonly connects to my AP and says, that connection was established.
But when I try to open some web page, only some works, and others says, they
were not resolved. When I look into /etc/resolv.conf , i see there:
# Dynamic
Also in Intrepid Ibex gcursor doesn't work.
When I run it in console i get:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gcursor
(gcursor:7107): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment
with non-zero page size is deprecated
(gcursor:7107): libglade-WARNING **: could not find signal handler
Also I tried to change cursor in Appearance - properties of Theme Human.
That seems it changed something but only when I focus the cursor on some
parts of GTK-based applications :-)

What repository did you get OpenOffice from? Ubuntu or Third-Party?
I'm not sure, but it is possible it is from third-party, because in synaptic,
