I started seeing this problem a few weeks ago, on two out of my three
computers, all running Xubuntu 14.04.1.
Disabling compositor did get rid of that issue.

The good news is that there has never been a crash when I am using Kile, so
there has never been data loss.
That was the problem in the first version shipped with Jaunty.

I am using 2.0.84 (2.1 beta3) in karmic, and this problem persists.
About half of the time, Kile does not shut down properly, and causes later
crashes.
