[Bug 154416] Re: hfsplus unlink problems

2008-10-16 Thread till busch
hi leann, i have finally found the time to test again. the bug is gone in intrepid, but it is still there in hardy kernel Linux 2.6.24-21-generic. since hardy is LTS, i strongly opt for putting this in one of the next kernel updates. effectively this bug causes data loss. i have a patch, that i

this was fixed by Roman Zippel on 2008-04-10 in linus' git tree. see following commit: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=76b0c26af2736b7e5b87e6ed7ab63901483d5736 maybe it can be backported? otherwise i hope it makes it into ubuntu 8.10 -- hfsplus

[Bug 70601] Re: [patch] reset ide controller on resume

2008-03-24 Thread till busch
i just tested a kubuntu-KDE4 hardy aplha. apparently the kernel for hardy uses ata-drivers for my chipset (again). this is a good thing, as my disk now spins up correctly after resume. from my point of view the bug can be closed. thank you! -- [patch] reset ide controller on resume

2007-12-12 Thread till busch
thanks leann for your suggestions. i just tested 2.6.24-1. i'm sorry, but 2.6.24-1 does not fix the problem. it persists just as before. creating hard links links works fine (the link count is updated correctly). deleting any file with multiple links sets the link count to 0 immediately (which

it might work in feisty with the piix driver, gutsy does not provide a piix. there is only pata_mpiix.ko, ata_piix.ko and pata_oldpiix.ko. i tried to load them all with no effect, as far as i can tell. (nothing appears in dmesg) -- [Gutsy Tribe 2] CD drive (superdrive) in MacBook Pro santa rosa

after updating pommed from svn to pommed v1.8 ($Rev: 336 $) automatic kbd backlight works fine for me. i do have to modprobe applesmc manually before starting pommed, though. this was not necessary for feisty. function-keys work fine: with fnmode=2 i get normal linux-like behaviour for f1-f12
