This issue can be solved by adding noapic nolapic acpi=force as your
boot parameters. It also works for Live CD Ubuntu, which freezes as well
for me.

Also it does with Feisty. It only doesn't freeze when I took my ddr2
1GB RAM out of the computer and leave only 512MB there, or if i stop the
powernowd.
