Not a suspend/hibernate issue (actually, I have not attempted either
since the updates). This occurs (or does not occur) when trying to put
the display to sleep. I set a inactivity timeout of 18 min to put
display to sleep in gnome-power-preferences, but it no longer does so.

I am heartened by the lack of any response here from a developer that
the crew is quite busy preparing for Hardy or is otherwise occupied.

to a faulty kernel module or to the defaults in the config-network
