I installed Lucid alpha 3 yesterday and I have a black screen after
resuming from suspend. I have to reboot and start again.

I found that typing
sudo /sbin/alsa force-reload
in terminal makes the sound work

I've got this problem too. I've got an ALC883 and there's no sound at
all after first install. It's annoying for karmic koala to fall at the
first hurdle like this! There aren't even options to ditch pulseaudio
and use alsa instead in the sound preferences. What to do? Can anyone
help?

compiz does not show window boards or the cube
I've just upgraded to Feisty beta and I'm having the same problem. I've
checked the plugin list in gconf and decorator is there, but I haven't
got any windows decoration when I switch on the GL desktop. I've tried
both gtk-window-decorator --replace --sync which worked in Edgy and
compiz
