Same here on iBook G4. UdevLog.txt says that kernel reports media change
over and over again. If you insert an audio CD, udev still wastes CPU
cycles on blk_id et al but at least udisks-daemon doesn't run all the
time.

I tried the the two versions of the firmware available - the same. modprobe -r
iwlagn; modprobe iwlagn sometimes works - sometimes hangs the machine entirely.

Binary package hint: udev
There are many symlinks missing although they are defined in /etc/udev.
I found out about it when gnomeradio complained about missing
/dev/radio, but worked when I entered manually /dev/radio0. I expected
udev to create a symlink and in fact there is

After unmounting a removable media, the directory contents change to my
home directory and that's fine, but the title bar and location still
show the removable media name and location. I'd expect them to change to
my home directory too.

yes , it is still unsolved ... more default users in generic Ubuntu
install makes setting VM very simple. Also adding one TAP script ( I
can send my) in default installation helps with this difficult process.

Yes, it is still unsolved , if you need more instructions please let me
now. Solution is very easy --> one "group" command which install all
tools (tun,brctl etc) + one ready , editable script with instructions
in Ubuntu. It saves few hours of work and the effect is perfect
foundation for Virtual
It was used with Live Cd , it shows a window " grub error " ( something like
this)

After some more research I found that sha1.c (the only endian-dependent
file, AFAIK) didn't include "config.h" in any version (neither 0.6.4 in
Feisty, nor 0.6.5 in Gutsy). I've rebuilt the package and NM started
connecting to WPA networks. Not 100% of the time, but it seems that I've
messed up my

I've found the source of this anomaly: at least in my case was
CheckPoint firewall (NGX 6.2) and one of the SmartDefence's rules:
SmartDefence -> WebIntelligence -> HTTP Protocol Inspection -> Header Rejection
