OK - when I disable network connections, pidgin starts without hanging,
but hangs, as soon as I connect to the internet and set pidgin to online
too (sometimes, DE becomes irresponsible and only ctrl+alt+f1 and

Sometimes I have to try the 'indicator-killing' several times until pidgin is
working.
The strange thing, however, is the erratic behaviour.
I consider this bug relatively critical, as there is no true alternative to
pidgin - empathy is just a pile of garbage: huge buddy icons make it unpossibl

Tonight I had access to a TV with hdmi input: In 3.2.13 only the item is
visible in the sound menu but not functional. At the moment sound is
only working with the 3.3 mainline kernel (flawless sound playback).

Yes, but then no hdmi audio no matter which kernel. My other laptop has
a hd4670 graphics card, (which is supported by the default kernel) and
also needs the parameter for hdmi audio to be available.

strangely it is not fixed...in 3.2.13 mainline it is present in sound
menu (haven't tested the output yet - no hdmi TV available at the

OK - I learned how to build an optimized version of the atlas library -
which makes revolution-mkl obsolete (the pimped version of atlas is even
faster on my machine - given the stuff I'm doing with R). Plus: atlas is
LGPL.
Forget the openmp part.

using Alt+Tab or Strg+Alt+Tab do hide and unhide my open windows works, but
after beeing unhidden, the windows decoration (the black bar on top) - and only

I'm expieriencing a very similar behaviour: alt+tab or alt+tab+d does
hide the windows, but after bringing them back onto the desktop the
windows decoration is unklickable and the windows cannot be moved, as
