ok, so I manages to locate the problem. the firewall didn't allow me to
stream from the network (that could have occurred to me...). so, some
kind of new firewall configuration causes this, as I didn't have to
disable it for watching RTP in Ubuntu10.10. And now, Vlc suffers form
this.
Any ideas ho
the problem with "vlc-mozilla-plugin" is probably not related to this...

EQ" output. Using this freezes everything when playing anything in VLC
immediately, when I switched to the default output, it could play for
some time, and then again, everything
My freshly installed Natty acts correctly. And recently, the problem
disappeared after an update in Maverick too... So I mark this solved, if
u like.

Yeah, the bug u filed on bugzilla is exactly that what I'm experiencing.
The thing is that it doesn't happen always, just sometimes.
My workaround: I save the project and hope when I reopen it, it will be

Eventually I have come to an end that the .iso is broken. The partition
is ok, I have tried Unetbootin and Startup disk creator too, have used a
different filesystem type, but the installation always fails at the same
point with the same message.
Here it is, hopefully correct now... I'm running 10.04. And I also use
pulseaudio with pulseaudio-equalizer.

I'm not really sure, how to learn this, I didn't see anything in the VLC
setup...
I'm using the generic kernel and have the rtkit package installed.
In my case, the corrupted video (created in Pitivi) plays well in VLC,
as if everything was all right. And yeah, VLC uses it's own codecs...
So it loks like there can be more different reasons for why it gives u
the error message!
But, please, could some of the developers expain us, what exactly
I think this serious risk deserves a Warning! Many people use PPA's and
things like Elementary theme and other Ubuntu "hacks" are quite popular.
So please consider something like: "Warning: This may mean package
inconsistencies, try to run the update later, or if you're using PPA
sources, try to d

It's already the 2. time the update menager has given me a message like
"Unable to do the update because of (I don't know what)" and I
could only do a PARTIAL UPGRADE, instead of a normal UPDATE. This

Yeah, the problem is definitely with the sound, not the video! I think
VLC uses, it's own codecs. It's strange, because I'm getting the message
after 2-3 seconds already... It does not start playing the sound at all,
but I see a couple of the first frames.

Mediaplayer crashed with "pa_stream_w
It looks like the problem is that Nautilus is version 2.31 (so Maverick
version). It makes sense, cause it offered me a partial update. I think
you'll get the same problem if u replace ur Nautilus with 2.31! But
reinstalling replaces it with the same version. I would like to get back
to 2.30, which

I'm experiencing also another mouse&keyboard freeze, this time related
to Gnome Mplayer: Bug #623003. The behaviour is similar, but at least
the pointer keeps on moving, however, no clicking possible. So, same
result, I have to reboot...
