Public bug reported: Steps: 1) install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 2) dump asl from the system to confirm _BIX is not presented and thus battery trip point is not supported. 3) cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*/alarm (or /sys/class/power_supply/BAT*/alarm) 4) return "unsupported" (or 0) 5) write a value to /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*/alarm (or /sys/class/power_supply/BAT*/alarm) 6) cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*/alarm (or /sys/class/power_supply/BAT*/alarm)
Expected result: "alarm" stays as "unsupported" (or 0) Actual result: "alarm" returns the written value ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001885 Title: battery trip point (alarm) can be updated when it is not supported by firmware To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1001885/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
