Public bug reported: I use a Thinkpad R500 with an external keybord (Logitech G230). The G230 also has the special keys for volume up/down/mute and they work fine, including the on screen display. What does not work is the mute button of the integrated keyboard of the Thinkpad. I found out about it today when sound stopped working entirely after fiddeling with the special keys on the external keyboard.
