Enabling the tests via dep8 is a good idea. Plus, it would give me a

Hi !
I'm the current maintainer of pytest in Debian, and have lend a hand a
couple of times with codespeak-lib as well.
I haven't looked at codespeaklib testsuite yet, but it would not
surprise me that it is intended to be run by pytest, since pytest was
originately part of codespeak-lib and upst
codespeak-lib looks mostly OK. I'm a little confused about its test
suite. It isn't run at all right now. And when I tried to run it (just
did "nosetests ./testing"), I got 32 errors and 2 failures. The
failures might be real, but the errors mostly looked like failures to
import pytest. Which
Though I will say it would be nice if pytest (and codespeak-lib too) had
Ubuntu bug subscribers.

pytest needs codespeak-lib. It is also a pure Python package, supports
Python 3, is well-covered by tests, and maintained well in Debian. There
is just one Debian bug report, but it does not hurt us at all for the
purposes of pytest.
