i also have this problem with my g1s, i did the ctrl alt f2 rmmod and it
is installing now.. thanks!
this was happening on xubuntu.. so then i tried ubuntu.. also happened
there

Thank you for reporting a problem in Ubuntu, to make it better.
Launching ubiquity from the terminal or with alt-f2 you can do:
$ ubiquity --no-webcam
For us to fix this problem though, cause you please run ubiquity like
so:
$ ubiquity --debug
Re-create the crash on the webcam page,
I have the same problem during the installation from USB. You should
admire my eyes. Take a photo window just lasted less than 1 second and
then disappeared. No error message. Just nothing. Installation
terminated.
I made the USB installation disk twice. Still persist. I'm finding a way
to skip
