I am facing the same issue in stable/essex.
Snapshot is stuck at deleting status . When i run nova
volume-snapshot-delete snapshot_id, It gives me the following error msg
ERROR: Invalid volume: Volume Snapshot status must be available or error (HTTP
400) (Request-ID:
Forgot to add, I am not using cinder, this problem is occurring for
nova-volume service.

Hi Brad,
I've reverted the work-around and reproduced this quite easily. The problem
is, once this happens the kernel is locked up. I don't have the ability to run
apport or even pull a copy of the logs for you.
Not sure how to get you the information you need here, any suggestions?
