Deleting all compiz config directories in ~ and ~/.config fixes the
problem. I expect this to bite many upgraders, though.

To manage
the error here is: Settings schema 'org.compiz.unityshell' does not
contain a key named 'devices-option'
it's weird though because there is no 'devices-option' used in the
current unity's codebase ... what version of unity is installed (dpkg -l
| grep unity)

I tried recompiling the schemas with 'sudo glib-compile-schemas
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas' but it did not help.
