I guess you meant 14.04/Trusty. 12.04/Precise still had unity2d. Looks like 14.04/Trusty works better from the performance side (unity seems to do less fading in and out which was the most obvious pain). And there is a way to disable online search. Looks to be the same in Wily, so I think this
