Affects me sometimes (today for example), I am using fully patched
ubuntu 12.10 on a AMD powered Netbook.
Furthermore the symptoms range from:
a) Works properly
b) Full screen works, but active window doesn't
c) All screenshots are just the background.

I am seeing a similar issue with a Kubuntu 12.10 installation and an ATI
FirePro Graphics card. On occasion the KDE screen capture utility
(KSnapshot) will do the same thing, but sometimes it works. I cannot
find any pattern with KSnapshot.

I have uploaded what is always captured regardless of capture type
(Selection, Desktop, Window, ...). One other configuration I am running
is that it's dual monitor.

No, HP Pavilion dv6 and with all the latest updates. ScreenCloud and
Gnome-Screenshot are working fine, but Lookit has the same problem.

On my Intel-Machine Shutter seems to run just fine with 12.10. On the
other machine I use an ATI card and I installed the new and shiny
proprietary ATI drivers. Mabye they are the reason I see this bug.
