@csoler: when you change your main group, it changes nothing in /etc/group, it just changes the gid of your main group in /etc/passwd. If you have a standard /etc/group, users GID is 100. Could you check that your GID in /etc/passwd is 100 ? -- Incorrect update of /etc/group when changing user'

In my case I add a forti group because it was able to write in a particular samba partition and I associated this grouo to my user (all this using the user and gruop interface) .
