Public bug reported: When I use the proprietary driver for my nVidia GTX 285 graphics card Compiz animations don't work properly.
The animation I noticed the most was the minimize zoom animation. When I minimize a a window the contents of the window instantly vanish but the boarder fades and zooms out properly. The strange thing is that if I restore the window before it has finished minimizing (setting the minimize animation time really long) the window turns black when it is restored but if I then minimize it again it minimizes correctly. The driver I am using is nvidia-current 304.51.really.304.43-0ubuntu1 although I've had this problem with any of the nVidia drivers in the software center (current, tested, and experimental). Using the Uouveau driver the animations work but it has other problems that make me want to use the nVidia driver. The compiz version is compiz 1:0.9.8.4+bzr3407-0ubuntu1 I am using Ubuntu 12.10 64bit with all updates installed. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: animations compiz nvidia ** Attachment added: "typical minimize.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1078859/+attachment/3433427/+files/typical%20minimize.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1078859 Title: Broken animations in compiz with nvidia proprietary driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1078859/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
