Thanks for reporting this bug. This is a reqression in qemu-kvm since
precise. In precise, the following works fine (meaning, kvm starts up -
no idea if it does what it should):
kvm -vnc :1 -cdrom raring-mini-amd64.iso -hda raring.img -net
nic,model=virtio -net
