This bug is present in Ubuntu 15.4. I've also experienced identical behavior in Mint. I have frequently been able to observe information on a monitor or operate the keyboard and mouse within a session for a couple of seconds between when the monitor wakes and when the screen lock intervenes.

This bug also seems to affect machine's in a locked state. When I return to my PC after locking it (without suspending) and the monitor is off, it takes a few moments for the lock screen to appear. During this time the desktop is both viewable and editable. This is quite a security concern. --

This issue persists in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. It seems surprising that only 4 of us have flagged this as affecting them when I believe it to be a known issue. (It was discussed on UK Ubuntu Podcast several months ago.) It was introduced a few releases ago and presents a security risk. Is it reported
