I am experiencing the same issue with an Avermedia card connected to my Ubuntu 12.04 machine. Everything is recognised except the tuner. dmesg shows the same bttv: 0: tuner absent message Manually specifying the tuner with the tuner parameter when modprobing bttv does not help. -- You

Could someone make sure that I have the right kernal package. I'm running debian testing (linux mint) so I'd like to know what is the latest mantanance kernal for debian/ubuntu. I could also just build the latest stable development kernal. I don't think this is fixed though. It was working in
