If all goes well with upstream v3.8, we will know that this is a bug,
and it is fixed upstream. We can then perform a Reverse Bisect to
identify the commit that fixed this bug and have it backported to
earlier kernels.

The test of the mainline kernel in comment #5 was to see if this bug
also exists upstream, not to permanently install that kernel.
Also, do you have a way to identify which disk is sde1 in the array? It
may be that that particular disk is actually going bad.

Well, We can choose one of our machine to upgrade the kernel to v3.8.
We have use DELL's diagnostic tool to test the hardware, including the disk,
memory and motherbroad, all goes well.

to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.8 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both

All the 12.04 on R720 is newly installed, less than a month.
As you suggest us upgrading the kernel, it is not so well for putting into
practise, because they all for production.
