This isn't an issue in Kubuntu Intrepid (8.10) since Kicker is no more.
(replaced by Plasma)

The creash is happen if i update the news. Sometimes at startup sometimes later.

Please try to install kdebase-dbg and kdelibs-dbg. When the problem
happens again, Apport should allow to report the bug with a better

Yes is is the KNewstiker.
I youse OpenSuse 10.2. On a second partition i have install kubuntu use the
same partition for /home
Afterlogin the kicker krash traying to load the newsticker.
With OpenSuse 10.2 knewstiker works fine.

Thanks for additional information. If I'm not going wrong, Kubuntu 7.04
uses KDE 3.5.6 and Opensuse uses KDE 3.5.5. Is correct?

it is related to knewsticker. Please attach the file
.kde/share/config/kickerrc to give us more information about your panel.
