a) We're not using Xubuntu, but Ubuntu.
b) It happend on the notebook of my boss. I can not install another OS there.
c) He told me it doesn't happen anymore because of some updates.

dittler, this is not reproducible in Xubuntu. Could you please provide
an example picture file that demonstrates this problem? As well, could
you please test for this in Raring via http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-

It happened again immediately after I posted the above. This time a drag
drop cursor (fist with +) was left behind. It stays above everything
else, even if I go Ctrl+Alt+F1.

I'll add that eoy of the gnome is not the only affected application.
These days I tried to drag an image in the browser and X crashed with
the same error. Also, on the other day, I tried to edit an android
screen inside eclipse and again, the same crash.

This does not happen on another computer which also has a Radeon card.
It also doesn't seem to be related to a specific version of fglrx or xserver. I
tryied different ones.
