Public bug reported:

When php-mcrypt is installed on 10.04 the file
/etc/php5/conf.d/mcrypt.ini is installed which uses the deprecated '#'
comment indicator. This causes php to start throwing errors if your
logging is set accordingly.

It appears most if not all of the other php extension packages installed
use the appropriate ';' comment indicator for the conf.d files.
