Some additional information for you. What you're probably still missing
is linux-headers-3.5.0-25-generic. But by installing linux-headers-
generic you should always get the correct header packages pulled in for
the current kernel version.

After manual removal of package 'linux-headers-3.5.0-25' which I had
previously manually installed :

installation of packages 'linux-headers-3.5.0-25' and 'linux-
I did some asking around, and it turns out that the problem is actually
a bug in the installer for quantal. It's removing some packages that it
shouldn't, including the headers metapackage. It's a known issue, so I'm
just going to mark the bug against the kernel as invalid.

Normally the bcmwl-kernel-source package will blacklist the in-kernel
drivers for Broadcom wireless so that the wl driver will be used
instead. In your case I don't see any driver loaded at all for the
device. lspci is saying the ssb module is in use, which normally would
be the case, however the
