So the command is running, but fail to establish a simple connection.
The test is hard-wired to connect to http://cdimage.ubuntu.com.
Can you do a couple things:
1: run the attached script from a terminal twice, like so:
./network_check -a; echo $?
./network_check --url=http://www.google.com
