What is circular about this bug? Somebody said that (in #172258) that
the bug is a duplicate, but it isn't. For 32-bit the error was fixed, so
this bug can remain closed. That half of wine still needs to be ported
to 64-bit is not part of this bug IMHO.

where is this fix ? I have been waiting for some time now for the 64 bit
fix to this problem and I still do not see a pitfdll for hardy 64bit
anywhere.

The package you have attached is for i386, and will not install on 64bit
Ubuntu. is there a work around ?
And I have one question, I am not completely clear as to why we need to
wait till Hardy gets released to have this confirmed bug corrected in
the repo's, that blows me away. Can
I assigned it to someone, because someone has to do something about
this. It is a straight-forward fix, without known regressions. So this
should just get to the Gutsy repos, or someone should type a convincing
reason (not about some policy, a REAL reason) why this shouldn't be
fixed in Gutsy.

i can confirm the problem !
I built a new version of the package for gutsy with the patch applied.
I join to my message a zip with :
- the update deb file
- the dsc file
- the diff
- the orig.tar.gz
The package fixes the problem and i named it
gstreamer0.10-pitfdll_0.9.1.1+cvs20070321-1ubuntu2
Same thing here using Gutsy. And it is problematic in lots of videos I
need. Please, someone patch the repository version.

I'm using 7.04, and I regularly see this error. It is especially
annoying since the firefox-plugin doesn't show the error, but just won't
work. I could give you a dozen of movies where the error pops up now and
then, but that won't really help: most of the time, when retrying, it
works.
