I had the same error with newly downloaded ubuntu 12.04 server install
image on a virtual machine. I don't know how to copy the text from the
vm, but you can find the error attached as an image.
I am using 64 bits of virtual machine with 1 GB of disk storage, all
default settings. The virtual

I had deleted the previous Ubuntu Server installation. I recreated the
installation on a different computer using VirtualBox. After the install
failed I get the shell retrieved /var/log/syslog info which is in the
screenshot.

There is not enought of /var/log/syslog present for me to determine what
is going on. If you can't attach the whole file how about using tail
-n30 or something that will fill the whole screen.
