Ok, I finally found the upstream bugtracker, and the bug has already
been reported https://gna.org/bugs/?9008 , and solved. Motus : I don't
know if it's possible to have a new release of python-soya in feisty-
backports but it would be great. I marking this as fix released.
** Changed in: slune
Okay, but how do I fix it on my computer? Slune (and Balazar) still
crash on startup.

Yes thats still a problem, that's why I asked motus for a new package.
Until it's done (if it is), you can try to get the new version of
python-soya and compile, but if you are not used to, it's safer to wait.

I've compiled things successfully a few times, but more often than not I
just get frustrated, so I guess I'll wait for the Ubuntu package. Any
way of finding out how long it will be until it's released?

Info coming from a duplicate (Bug #109349) :
Quote :
The same crash with sudo:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /usr/games/slune
* Slune * Slune lives in /usr/share/games
* Soya * Using 8 bits stencil buffer
* Soya * version 0.12
* Using OpenGL 2.1.0 NVIDIA 97.55
* - renderer : GeForce 7800
Ok my comment above is the normal output of this crash, no need to run
it as super user, I've updated description. Can anyone run a backtrace
(see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace) with bebuggins symbols installed
(see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ) ? This will
greatly help us in
Ok I can confirm this. The backtrace doesn't give anything good as there
are no debug packages for slune and pytho-soya available.
