Since the upgrade to 3.2.0-41-generic #66-Ubuntu we've not seen any more
occurrences of this bug.

I see a couple of separate faults in the (wifisyslog) one is irqbalance:

I have the same problem on dell latitude i5 ubuntu 12.04, xfce4, if I
not use the pc. PC crash and in the kernel log I see:
