Ben, The fix in 6.13 does not appear to be nearly enough to support the Realtek 268. There isn't even a setup function for the 268 codec in: struct hda_codec_preset snd_hda_preset_realtek[] I am going to try to look into what is needed to actually support the 268 codec, but I looked in alsa git

I updated to kernel 2.6.22-6.13 and I still have no sound. I didn't have any sound on the previous 2.6.22 release either. But if I reboot on my kernel 2.6.20 my sound gets back. I'm using up to date gutsy. Here is the output given but tutorial given above: http://pastebin.ca/537564 My soundcard
