Resolution: I removed the second HDD. When forced to write the boot record to the SDD the install runs properly. The HDD can be reinstalled after the system is rebooted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu.

As requested, output of 'sudo parted -l is below. However this is only for the SSD. I haven't yet remounted the HDD because I am too busy installing and running codes. The curious thing is that this worked properly under 12.04 but I messed it up somehow going to 12.10. Model: ATA Corsair Force 3
