Public bug reported:

This device uses an rtl8192cu Realtek driver as far as I know.
If you plug the device in via USB, or boot with it connected, nothing happens.

You have to execute the following commands, to at least have it in 
NetworkManager/iwconfig.
# sudo su
# modprobe rtl8192cu
# echo 2357 0100 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/rtl8192cu/new_id
# exit

Even after this, you won't be able to connect.
Authentication fails with a WPA2 router, with:
# wlan1: authenticate with .:.:.:.:..
# wlan1: direct probe to ... (try 1/3)
# wlan1: direct probe to ... (try 2/3)
# wlan1: direct probe to ... (try 3/3)
# authentication with ... timed out.

And this goes on and on. No other messages, just this one. Twice, every
time I try to connect with it.
