Gutsy Tribe 5 (amd64) here, same problem, same solution. The dbus-x11
package should definitely be made a dependency.

This is still a problem in gutsy. Installed a fresh tribe 5 and added
kde4 via Adept. starting brings up the error on dbus-launch. Installing
dbus-x11 fixes but this package should be included in the dependency
list.

(Another effect of this dependency problem is that rhythmbox fails to
see audio cds. On startup it reports dbus-launch is missing in its
stderr output, and the GUI menu item Music->Scan Removeable Media then
does nothing. A dbus-x11 install fixes it. I am using a Gutsy Tribe 3

I've attached a file from /var/crash that (hopefully) outlines what is
happening. I've experienced this crash on both Xubuntu Gutsy Gibbon
AMD64-alternate and -I386-desktop cd. The first test was from the iso
dated 2007-06-05.1, and the second test was from the live cd iso - dated
