daily CDs? (two people are reporting it fixed on gutsy). I'm closing the
bug as fixed. If you can still reproduce it, please reopen and attach

For what it's worth. Cannot reproduce on Ubuntu Gusty 2007-08-23 either.
But this was a text install, is there any difference to the kernel
between the alternate and the regular install medium?
Oh, and I've testet with Asus p5b delux, and can confirm this bug exists
with the Ubuntu 7.04 AMD64

The installer has no such scripting and can't really fix this itself.
Reassigning to the kernel - it sounds like some quirks need to be added
there.
