For what it's worth. Cannot reproduce on Ubuntu Gusty 2007-08-23 either. But this was a text install, is there any difference to the kernel between the alternate and the regular install medium? Oh, and I've testet with Asus p5b delux, and can confirm this bug exists with the Ubuntu 7.04 AMD64
