I have problems too, especially with the i386 images. In the meanwhile I
use unetbootin for creating startup disks.

I had reduced the reserved extra space to zero because I do not need this
for a simple installation.
This bug is not related with the space available on the USB storage. I have
tried different devices.
Copying the files to the USB storage always stops at 41% regardless of the
type in
Try reducing the Stored in reserved extra space to less than 500mb or
disabling using the Discarded on shutdown... radio button.
