I can confirm that this bug still exists in Thunderbird 3.1.7 on Ubuntu
10.10 and has *not been fixed*.
To reproduce the bug, set up a standard installation of Thunderbird (all
settings on default, no extensions installed), create a new email and
type in some random text (let's say more than 200

I've just tried to reproduce the bug, were those 100 chars all in one
word? Because Thunderbird will reorganise text so it is all visible from
a window like a word processor.
