seems like a valid issue, however needs more investigation (and a
working vlc in order to test it).
moreover, the patch should be ported to latest upstream ffmpeg. at least
to the version found in intrepid

VLC downloads Flash
Note the Windows version of VLC does not have this problem as it uses a
newer FFMPEG.
