Public bug reported: Gnome-power-manager refuses to suspend when my laptop lid is closed, despite the fact that I specifically set the settings to do so. When probing the lid close event status over ssh, I can see that the event is in fact being registered, but nothing is done about it. To add further complexity to the matter, it seems as though this problem extends to the power button as well. Let me know if I need to procure any additional info regarding the problem.
