I have the same issue:
I just updated the bios to the most recent one:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

But it did not fix the problem, SD cards are not detected and there is
no error message.

Thomas, thank you for your comment. So your issue may be dealt with as soon as
possible, and so your hardware may be tracked by having necessary debugging
information automatically attached, could you please file a new report with
Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted
[Expired for linux (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]
