I believe that this is still an issue in Tribe 3.
Plugging in my ntfs usb disk brings up the unable to mount ntfs-3g error, a
simple apt-get install ntfs-3g fixes this.

But you forget about non gnome users. We don't have gnome-mount here. I

I just tried it on a local hard disk partition, with gnome-mount and
hal, that worked just fine. What do you mean? I just installed the
ntfs-3g package.

But you can't automount ntfs-3g with hal. We need policykit from
freedesktop.org to fix this. Do you know if team going to include it
into 7.10?

Yes all the partitions show up in the computer place I receive the error
message when I click on one of the ntfs partitions.
Here is the output you requested:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gnome-mount -vbd /dev/sda1

Ah, so you need to install the package 'ntfs-3g' to make this work. We
need to review it and promote to main, and install it by default
(desktop seed).
For an immediate fix for tribe-2 we should probably flip ntfs-3g back to
the kernel ntfs driver in gnome-mount. I'll look into that.

Brian, thanks for the data. So far hal and blkid are consistent, so it's
not a hal problem.
Do you see all partitions in the Computer place?
What is the output of
