Ubuntu 7.04 ( clean install ) 512 Mb RAM AMD XP 1600+ NVidia Card 64Mb I'm with the same problem.
But, I think the problem is not with Firefox; maybe it's with NVidia Driver. I reproduced the error doing the following: - Launch Ubuntu - Immediately start Firefox (or immediately do the next step) - Open the file system Folder (in Graphical mode) - Scroll the page. Then the computer totally freeze. This was done 5 times, in sequence, and had the same result. After that, I deactivated the NVidia Driver and repeated the steps above. The system automatically logged out. I logged in and repeated the tests. Nothing happened.
