Public bug reported: Dear developers,
When any kind of session (race, qualifying, practice) ends at selected tracks, torcs crashes. It is perfectly reproducible, and happens regardless of robots and torcs version. I have tested it with the repository version of torcs 1.2.4, self compiled 1.3.0 (with several flags) and pre-compiled torcs 1.3.0. The tracks that crash are: e-track 2 e-track 3 e-road michigan (from 1.3.0) My hardware is a Pentium-M Dell laptop with an ATi Mobility 9600 graphics card. The crash disappears as soon as I uninstall fglrx (the latest version in Feisty's repostitory) and use r300. For the sake of testing, I installed the drivers available in AMD's website (version 8.37.6) and they also crash. This bug also happens in Debian, and it is reported as an RC bug holding torcs 1.3.0 from testing. The Debian bug is #428038. I will post later the full gdb error log. For now, the error message one gets in the terminal is <<< /usr/local/lib/torcs/modules/simu/simuv2.so unloaded <<< *** glibc detected *** /usr/local/lib/torcs/torcs-bin: free(): invalid pointer: 0x08059cc0 *** Thanks for your help, Miguel PS: A curious thing is that when using fglrx, even the "results only" practice mode (without graphics) runs like 4 times slower than it does with r300. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-amd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- fglrx causes Torcs to crash when races end https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121516 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
