Hm. This should probably be two bug reports, the animations setting
problem and the Emerald problem.
The Emerald package is too old to be used by Compiz (it's still 0.2.1,
which only works on Beryl without patching).
The animations setting problem is fixed in ccsm git: QuinnStorm's
commits 15fd6bd4bf207cb630c96a32c51d45e8be36f060 and
978c5718850ca6d0266e90a290c8db57797a46e9 fix this problem (on the 22nd
of June).
I'll re-title and reassign this bug to compizconfig-settings-manager.
Feel free to file a wishlist bug against Emerald asking for it to be
updated a git snapshot.
