I appreciate the irritation, but the nature of distributions is that
they are always a little behind the times. The changes to 1.8.6 are
unlikely to be sufficient to require an update to a stable release like
Feisty.
I'm going to mark this 'Fix Released' since it is updated in the Gutsy
The problem is that this version breaks one of Rails's servers. Mongrel
does not run correctly unless ruby is at 1.8.6.
Mongrel keeps trying to patch Ruby because of the version problem. On
my Ubuntu system, that patch is not working correctly, and I am not able
to serve my Rails application.
